Funding Source: 3% Guilford County occupancy tax

Mission & Purpose

Visit High Point's mission is to position High Point as a destination that visitors will enjoy and that locals will want to promote. Any tourism dollars invested through the grants cycle must be used to drive more outside visitors to High Point, ultimately staying overnight in local room night accommodations as well as boosting economic impact by increased spending in restaurants, retail, events, and supporting hospitality venues.

Funding Requirements

• The organization is legislated to invest at least 15% of its annual occupancy tax in specific tourism-related projects

Eligibility

• Applicants must be in good standing in submitting reports for former grant cycles
• Check eligibility status prior to applying

Focus Areas

• Tourism-related projects that drive overnight visitor stays
• Projects that increase spending in:
- Restaurants - Retail - Events - Supporting hospitality venues

Reporting Requirements

• Progress Reports and Final Reports required (covering June 30, 2023 – June 30, 2024 cycle)
• Reports must include measurable outcomes such as:
- Visitor attendance - Overnight stays - Marketing reach - Overall economic impact on the community
• Supporting documentation required:
- Invoices - Marketing materials - Event summaries
• Clear and complete reporting ensures compliance and strengthens future applications
