Community Foundation of North Central Washington The Community Foundation of NCW is a tax-exempt philanthropic organization that helps individuals, families, businesses, and agencies support charitable causes throughout Chelan, Douglas, and Okanogan counties. Dr. Steven G. Kerr Memorial Medical Scholarship From an early age, Steve Kerr aspired to become a doctor. His family had limited financial resources. Fortunately, he was granted a scholarship allowing him to attend the University of Arizona. After completing medical school and extra training, Steve devoted his entire life to the practice of medicine – his number one passion! This scholarship supports a nontraditional student who is enrolled in the Allied Health Program at Wenatchee Valley College. The committee seeks to award an older student who for some reason was unable to pursue or complete his/her higher education and who is studying the field of medicine or in a medically related career.
