Program Description

The Dr. James K.C. Juan Scholarship Program is funded by an endowment established by family and friends of Dr. Juan, a lifelong educator, for his 90th birthday. Originally formed to promote educational study by Asian students, the scholarship is now open to students in any field or major providing monetary awards.

Eligibility

• Students in any field or major
• Special consideration given to those pursuing a degree in education
• Recipients should embody Dr. Juan's values: hard work, respect for others, importance of community, and the power of hope in the Asian American community

• David Wu: $1,000 (Actuarial Science, Ohio State University)
• Patrick Ho: $500 (B.S./M.D. program, Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine)
• Jessica Parker: $500 (Nursing Major, Case Western University)
• Shelby Torre: $500 (Biology Major, University of Akron)
• Li Wei Hung: $250 (Physics and Astronomy, Ohio State University)
• David Tan: $250 (Political Science and International Relations, Ohio State University)
