Overview

2026-27 Boating Infrastructure Grant DBW is accepting Letters of Intent to apply for the BIG program through 5:00pm PDT Friday June 13, 2025. Letters of Intent will be competitively reviewed and only those selected will be invited to move forward with submitting a full proposal. Selected applicants will be notified approximately two weeks after the submission deadline. Full proposals will only be accepted from applicants who are invited through the Letter of Intent process. Boating Infrastructure Grants (BIG) are federally funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Wildlife and Sport Fish Restoration Program. These federal grants are for boating infrastructure improvements that serve transient recreational vessels at least 26 feet in length. Transient vessels are those “passing through”, staying 15-days or less. Projects completed using BIG funds may be publicly or privately owned, but must be publicly accessible. Boating Infrastructure Grant projects are intended to: Enhance access to recreational, historic, cultural and scenic resourcesStrengthen community ties to the water’s edge and economic benefitsPromote public/private partnerships and entrepreneurial opportunitiesProvide continuity of public access to the shorePromote awareness of transient boating opportunities
