About Us The Royal Musical Association is the foremost society in the UK dedicated to the study of the study of all types of music, including but not limited to musicology, ethnomusicology, composition, digital music, popular music, performance, audio-visual creativity, contemporary practices, interactive music, and music technology. Displaced Music Researcher Membership and Bursary Scheme The RMA offers a Displaced Music Researcher Membership and Bursary Scheme. This scheme is designed to offer free membership, mentorship and support to facilitate music research (in any area, including practice research) to scholars from any country who have been displaced from their jobs or (doctoral) studies as a result of conflict and/or political circumstances. Free membership will be offered for a year in the first instance and is renewable. In line with the RMA’s commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion, we encourage applications from across the full spectrum of music studies, including individuals from currently underrepresented groups. We can offer: Free membership Mentoring Access to RMA resources and benefits, including electronic research resources and our journals Access to our bursary scheme to support music research in the broadest sense.

Eligibility
