Sponsors volunteer disaster relief efforts and supports advocacy for disaster victims.

Geographic Scope: National (areas of major disasters)

Focus Areas:

• Emergency relief distribution (food, clothing, bottled water, supplies)
• Disaster victim advocacy and aid education
• Full economic recovery in federal disaster areas
• Countering racism and classism in official relief programs
• Addressing delays and denials of aid to poor, minority, and working-class communities

Key Information:

• NEJA operates volunteer disaster relief units
• Provides free relief supplies with no questions asked
• Supports committees demanding official relief agencies uphold the law
• Works to ensure equitable access to relief and recovery resources
