Diane Lapp & James Flood Professional Collaborator Award Grant

The Diane Lapp & James Flood Professional Collaborator Award honors collaborative efforts among literacy educators. Recognizing teams of two to three members, it celebrates contributions that have positively impacted literacy education over at least five years. Eligible candidates must be ILA members in good standing, and nominations are accepted on a rolling basis. This award emphasizes ongoing professional collaborations that enhance the knowledge base within the field of literacy.

Candidates may self-nominate or be nominated by a colleague. Please note that candidates who have been nominated by a colleague are no longer required to complete a separate application.Nominations are accepted on a rolling basis. To be considered for the Diane Lapp & James Flood Professional Collaborator Award, nomination forms must be completed and received no later than the deadline.

ILA’s awards and grants honor outstanding graduate and doctoral students, literacy educators, and researchers in all stages of their careers.
The Diane Lapp & James Flood Professional Collaborator Award recognizes an ongoing professional collaboration between two or more people who regularly contribute to the professional knowledge base of literacy educators.

Eligibility

Collaborator teams of two to three people are eligible to be nominated or self-nominated.
Collaborators must be colleagues commonly associated as a professional team.
Collaborators must have worked on multiple projects and put forth several contributions of an enduring and positive impact to the evolving field of literacy education over a period of at least five years. The work must be in literacy research and practice in the form of a series of publications or a substantial field-based project(s) that focuses on new literacies, literacy collaborations, or literacy engagement.To be eligible, candidates must be ILA members in good standing and maintain active membership through the specified date. Please note that candidates will be evaluated on work that has been completed prior to the date of application; research or projects planned for future implementation will not be considered.Once submitted, nominations remain active for a total of three (3) years
