Overview

Designated Fund Grants

Overview: Grants available to organizations that are designated as the recipient of a Community Foundation Designated Fund.

Geographic Scope: Fort Atkinson area

Eligibility:

501(c)(3) organizations

Units of government

Must be currently identified as the designee of a Community Foundation Designated Fund

Permissible Uses: Unless otherwise specified by the fund creator, grants may be requested for any purpose that benefits the charitable organization, provided they comply with the Foundation's charitable purposes.

Restricted Uses - Funds should NOT be used for:

In response to annual drives

To eliminate previously incurred deficits or expenses

For debt retirement

To build endowment funds of the designee

For religious or sectarian purposes

For lobbying, partisan political purposes, or campaigns

Review Process: Applications are considered at the Foundation's quarterly board meetings.

Distribution: If the Designated Fund creator chose this option, the fund will make a year-end distribution to the designee based on the Foundation's spending policy (currently set at 4%).
