Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation Native American Graduate Fellowship Grant

The Dennis and Phyllis Washington Foundation Native American Graduate Fellowship supports graduate students at Montana State University who are enrolled members of a Montana tribe. This fellowship provides funding for one year, with the possibility of renewal for additional years based on eligibility criteria, including a minimum GPA of 3.0. Preference is given to applicants with departmental support for a graduate assistantship. This fellowship aims to enhance educational opportunities for Native American students.

Additional Award Information:

• Upon receipt of the Fellowship, the student will receive one (1) year of funding.

The student will be allowed to reapply and may be selected to receive a maximum of one (1) additional year for a master’s program or two (2) years of funding for a PhD program (provided the recipient remains eligible, i.e. maintains a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA).

Required Qualifications:
Accepted to a Master’s or Doctoral degree at Montana State UniversityMaintain a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPAEarned a baccalaureate degree from a four-year regionally accredited institution of higher learning anywhere in the U.S. and have graduated with at least a 2.5 undergraduate cumulative GPAMontana residentBe an enrolled member of a Montana tribe, i.e. enrolled in a federally recognized tribe that once called Montana homeUS citizenFull-time student
