Dementia Caregiver Respite Grant (Arkansas)

Surfaced via the Alzheimer's Association Arkansas Chapter site: the Dementia Caregiver Respite Grant is a $500 grant that family caregivers can apply for to pay for respite care (in-home respite, adult day care, or a short-term facility stay). The care recipient can be of any age, must reside in Arkansas, and must have a primary or secondary diagnosis of Alzheimer's and/or other dementia (on physician letterhead, dated within a year, stating daily assistance is required). Funds cannot be used as self-payment to the family caregiver. FIA: this grant is administered by Alzheimer's Arkansas (ALZark.org) and fully funded by the Arkansas Legislative Council via the Alzheimer's & Dementia Advisory Council (Act 391 of the 93rd General Assembly) - a state-funded program presented on the alz.org Arkansas chapter page.
