Overview

NOTE: Applications are accepted year round from January to December. Applications are evaluated on the first and third Thursday of every month, therefore completed applications must be received one week prior. Funding decisions are published on the first and third Friday of every month. Approved applicants can expect to receive funding two weeks after decision notification. Final reports are due with 60 days of the grant termination date entered in the application process. Promoting innovative approaches to oral health in communities throughout Arkansas The Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation Mini Grant opportunity supports innovative, solution-based projects that make an impact in the field of oral health. Mini grants are intended to support smaller community-based oral health initiatives. Grants are awarded up to $2,500 to Arkansas based non-profits addressing oral health in their communities. Focus areas typically funded through mini grants include: Supply – Provide oral health supplies to members of community.Educate – Educate the community about oral health. Prevent – Partner with a dental professional to provide preventative services for those in need in your community. Treat – Implement a project that connects those in need to dental treatment.

Our Mission
Transforming oral health through collaboration, innovation, education, and service.
Each year, Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation (DDARF) provides financial support to
organizations to help further our mission. We encourage community-based programs in Arkansas
to apply for grants for programs designed to improve oral health.
Grant-Making Focus
We support initiatives that prioritize oral health issues through education and treatment and are
committed to health equity.
DDARF Mini Grants support projects and services promoting good oral health practices and
increasing access to dental care.
It is the intention that this funding help organizations do one or more of the following:
• Provide oral health treatment, education, and disease prevention services
• Increase access to oral health services to underserved Arkansans
• Promote collaboration across a wide range of health providers in Arkansas
Grant Overview
DDARF’s Mini Grant program provides statewide support to communities and nonprofit
organizations focusing on oral health education and services to underserved, uninsured, and/or
underinsured Arkansas residents.
• Mini Grant awards are up to $2,500
• Applications are accepted from January to December (see submission deadlines below)
• Grant applications are reviewed on the second Thursday of every month by our Mini Grant
Review Committee
• Grant recipients will be notified of decisions via email
• Final reports for approved applications are required 30 days after the project end date
• Applicants must be an Arkansas-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit, government agency, school, or
charitable dental treatment facility - we do not provide grants directly to individuals
• Eligible organizations may submit only one Mini Grant proposal per year
• Oral health programs must benefit underserved, uninsured, and/or underinsured Arkansans

Funds May Be Used For:
• Program specific administrative/staffing costs
• Capital needs (equipment, supplies, one-time expenses)
• Dental clinic treatment expenses
• Programmatic operational expenses
Typically Not Funded:
• Direct dental staff salaries or third-party dental payments to providers
• Individuals – grants must be awarded to an eligible organization
• Fundraising events/sponsorships
• Private foundations and endowments
• Reduction of organizational debt
• Excessive salary costs, travel, or incentives/gifts
• Programs that discriminate on any basis
Grant applications will be assessed based on 1) the clarity of how the proposed project will be
carried out, 2) its potential impact on the oral health of Arkansans, and 3) the subjective analysis of
the Delta Dental of Arkansas Foundation’s staff, grant review committee, and board of directors.
The Foundation’s funding decisions are final and shall not be subject to appeal.
