Overview
The DC Oral History Collaborative Grants support individuals and community organizations in Washington, DC to document local histories through oral interviews. This initiative offers training and resources for both novice and experienced oral historians. Grantees will have their projects archived in the DC Public Library, helping to preserve the diverse narratives of the community. Applications are welcome from those aiming to enrich the historical landscape of DC through personal stories.
The Collaborative accomplishes this by providing training, mentorship, resources, programs, and funding to current and aspiring oral historians.
Grant Opportunity
This grant opportunity funds community organizations and individuals to conduct oral history projects that are then formally archived in the DC Public Library. Grantees receive extensive training and guidance on how to conduct oral history interviews and the components necessary to archive them. We welcome applicants who have never conducted oral history interviews as well as those with experience!
