Program Description: The Dave Fons Memorial Fund awards scholarships to qualified applicants attending the Florida Transportation Builders Association (FTBA) CDL Training Program. The fund has recently expanded its scholarship program to include trucking school applicants.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

• Be enrolled in or accepted to FTBA's CDL Training Program
• Have completed all enrollment steps required by FTBA CDL Training
• Agree to make a good faith effort to complete the training program, obtain a CDL, and accept employment as a driver
• Agree to make a good faith effort to be adherent to best safety practices and procedures
• Agree to make a good faith effort to continue supplemental truck safety education if opportunities present themselves throughout their career
• Demonstrate financial need for the scholarship
