Award Amount: Up to $10,000 per academic year; with a maximum of five award years, this grant can amount to $50,000 lifetime

Eligibility:

Must be a Washington, D.C. resident

Must have lived in the District of Columbia for at least 12 months prior to the beginning of freshman year of college

Must have graduated from high school or received a G.E.D. on or after January 1, 1998

Must have begun freshman year of college within three years of graduating from high school

How It Works: DC TAG pays the difference between in-state and out-of-state tuition up to $10,000 a year, allowing you to attend any public institution in the nation as if you are a resident of the school's state.

Application Process: Students should submit a copy of their eligibility determination letter from D.C. TAG to the Office of Admissions and Financial Aid. Students must re-apply for the grant each year.
