CREEED Education Grants

CREEED (Council on Regional Economic Expansion and Educational Development) 'provides grants to support innovative efforts that help increase educational attainment, influence system-wide change, and ensure ongoing success for El Paso students.' Applicants must supply an IRS letter of determination reflecting tax-exempt status dated no more than five years from the grant application date, so the program is aimed at 501(c)(3) organizations. The application requires goals, metrics and geographic scope for the project, a project timeline, and a list of current and pending funding sources including source and amounts. Applicants must report total Board of Directors contributions for the past 24 months and the percentage of Board members who have contributed. Grant requests are submitted by email rather than through a form, and must explain how the request matches CREEED's Grant Guidelines. CREEED is based at 4110 Rio Bravo Dr., Suite 103, El Paso, Texas.

Step 1: prepare documentation — a brief description of the applying group or organization (and the group leading the project, if different) including any past record of successful education outcomes; brief bios of senior staff and the Board of Directors; a detailed budget request and budget narrative with the specific amount requested, a breakdown of expenses and, if applicable, a payment structure; the date funds are needed by; a detailed description of the project including goals, metrics and geographic scope; a project timeline; the current operating budget (if applicable) and proposed project budget; a list of current and pending funding sources with amounts; total Board of Directors contributions for the past 24 months and the percentage of Board members who contributed; an IRS letter of determination of tax-exempt status dated no more than five years before the application date; and answers to the questions in the CREEED Grant Evaluation Guidelines (downloadable from the page). Step 2: email the grant request to CREEED with a detailed explanation of how the funding request matches CREEED's Grant Guidelines.
