Overview: The Covering Climate Now Journalism Awards is an annual awards program recognizing outstanding journalism on climate change from journalists throughout the world.

Geographic Scope: International (worldwide submissions welcome)

Eligibility:

Journalists from any outlet worldwide

News outlets are not required to be CCNow partners to participate

Work must have been published, broadcast, or otherwise released during the calendar year prior to submission

Judging: Panel of distinguished journalists from around the world, including winners from previous years

History: Third annual awards as of 2023. Previous awards (2021-2022) honored work from 74 countries by journalists at major outlets including the Guardian, Reuters, AFP, CNN, PBS NewsHour, Al Jazeera, Channel 4 (UK), Los Angeles Times, TIME, Rolling Stone, The Nation, Grist, Post and Courier, and The New Humanitarian. Winners of 2022 awards were featured in "Burning Questions," a TV special hosted by Al Roker and Savannah Sellers, broadcast on PBS's WORLD Channel and streamed on YouTube.
