History The Community Foundation of Boone County was formed by a group of passionate and caring Boone County residents who wanted to build resources that would benefit nonprofits and residents of Boone County forever. In 1991, with their support, $15,000, and funds from Lilly Endowment Inc., the Community Foundation of Boone County was established. Today, CFBC holds more than $32 million in assets and has granted over $30 million from its various funds to nonprofit organizations and programs working to solve critical challenges in Boone County. Mission The Community Foundation of Boone County unites people, organizations, and philanthropy to create a thriving community for all. Apply for a Grant The Community Foundation of Boone County exists to grow and maintain an endowment to support Boone County’s needs and improve the quality of life in our local communities. In partnership with our Fund Advisors, Board of Directors, and Grants Committee, we award grants to Boone County-serving nonprofits to both identify and address local unmet needs and how to eliminate the root causes of those needs. Community Enrichment Grant This grant enhances the quality of life for residents, business owners, and visitors to the Town of Zionsville. Awards are made on a semi-annual basis: March 30 & September 30.
