Summary

The Commonwealth Corps Host Site RFA invites Massachusetts organizations to partner with AmeriCorps to address local community needs. Through AmeriCorps Planning Grants, eligible nonprofits, schools, and agencies can develop new programs to recruit and manage AmeriCorps members. These members play a crucial role in service, receiving training and support while making a significant impact on education, the environment, and public safety. This initiative aims to strengthen community engagement and enhance service delivery.

Overview

Partner with AmeriCorps AmeriCorps members have helped hundreds of community nonprofit organizations, faith-based groups, schools, and local agencies meet local needs in education, the environment, public safety, economic opportunity, disaster preparedness, and other critical areas. AmeriCorps state grants are awarded to eligible organizations to recruit, train, and manage AmeriCorps members who address unmet community needs in the Commonwealth. Members are individuals who engage in community service and may receive a living allowance during their term of service. Upon successful completion of their service, members receive a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award from the National Service Trust. AmeriCorps Planning Grants AmeriCorps Planning Grants provide resources to support the development of a new AmeriCorps program to Massachusetts organizations (nonprofits, schools, agencies, and community or faith-based groups) that do not currently receive AmeriCorps State funding from MSA.
