Overview

The Colin Aiken Plant Breeding Bursary Program supports undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled full-time in plant breeding studies at Massey University or Lincoln University. Established in 2015 in honor of Colin Aiken, this bursary encourages future careers in plant breeding, with preference for New Zealand citizens while also considering international applicants. It may be held alongside other scholarships, promoting educational diversity and opportunity.

For undergraduate or postgraduate candidates who are enrolled full time studying plant breeding.
This bursary was established in 2015 to promote plant breeding as a career. It was set up in association with South Pacific Seed Sales (NZ) Ltd with funds provided by royalties from sales of the Super Kumi hybrid variety of kumi kumi in acknowledgement of Colin Aiken who produced the variety. Mr Aiken died in 2017.
