Overview

Fact (page-stated): the Columbus Medical Association Foundation's Youth Advisory Council awards grants and sponsorships of up to $2,000 each to programs improving the health and wellness of youth in central Ohio; in the first six months of 2026 the Council awarded $13,500. Eligibility: applicant must be a 501(c)(3) organization or a county/state/federal government agency. Projects must target youth in central Ohio and address the Council's health funding priorities; youth leadership in developing and implementing the project is strongly encouraged, and grantees must recognize CMAF's Youth Advisory Council in publicity. Grants are typically for workshops or projects within a school, nonprofit and/or youth group; sponsorships must be for community-wide, all-inclusive events. The Council does NOT fund individuals, private foundations, religious or political activities, ongoing operating funds, indirect/administrative overhead (including staff salaries), deficits, endowments or research. Fact: applications are due by 4:30 p.m. on the last Wednesday of each month, so the cycle is monthly and rolling.
