Classics for Kids Matching Grant Program

The Classics for Kids Matching Grant Program, established by the Classics for Kids Foundation, aims to enhance music education for at-risk and rural youth by providing matching grants for fine stringed instruments. Since 1998, over $2 million has been allocated to support more than 300 programs across all 50 states. Schools and non-profits demonstrating need and commitment are encouraged to apply, fostering lifelong benefits of music participation and education.

Our mission is to support young people and the programs that serve them by offering matching grants for fine stringed instruments.
CFKF has a grant-making presence in all 50 states of America; at this writing, we’ve supported well over 300 string programs with over $2 million in beautiful new stringed instruments that inspire young people to participate and remain in their programs.
Funding
If your school or non-profit organization believes in the role of fine instruments in your program, and can show evidence of need and commitment to raising matching funds, you are a strong candidate for the Classics for Kids matching grant program.

NOTE: CFKF grants never exceed 50% of total instrument cost; please contact CFKF to determine total instrument cost through CFKF’s authorized instrument provider.

Eligibility

All applicants must have nonprofit status. Grants are limited to programs serving children kindergarten through grade 12. Funds received through this grant will be used only for the purpose of obtaining instruments through CFKF’s authorized instrument provider, or after discussion with CFKF, an alternate provider of instruments of similar quality.

Ineligibility

Grants are not made to individuals.
