City of Long Beach Youth Programming Mini-Grant Program

Geographic Scope: City of Long Beach, California

Focus Areas:

• Summer youth programming (ages 8-24)
• Youth serving groups and informal organizations
• Long Beach Advancing Peace Initiative projects (highly encouraged)

Target Population: Youth aged 8-24 residing in Long Beach who are most impacted by:

• Crime
• COVID-19
• Poverty
• Chronic health conditions

Eligible Applicants:

• Nonprofit organizations
• Informal groups
• Student and parent associations
• School clubs
• Neighborhood associations
• Groups from community spaces (e.g., skate parks)
• Youth-run projects
• Any youth-serving groups operating within Long Beach city limits

What They Fund:

• Equipment purchases
• Food
• Licensing rights for movies
• General liability insurance for summer programs
• Summer program activities

What They Don't Fund:

• Uniforms
• Alcohol
• Drugs
• Lobbying
• Capital purchases

Eligibility Requirements:

• Projects must be completed by October 14, 2022
• Organizations can only receive one mini-grant per group/organization for summer 2022
