Overview

Children's Fitness Fund

Organization: Southern Arizona Roadrunners

Background: Established in 1991, the Children's Fitness Fund provides money for community endeavors that promote life-long fitness for children. The programs funded by SAR focus on the development of healthy lifestyles for children, with emphasis on running-related activities. SAR seeks to fund programs that prepare children for a lifetime of individual exercise, regardless of physical condition or ability.

Funding Source: Each SAR race contributes approximately 10% of its profits to finance the Children's Fitness Fund.

  • Applications reviewed on the second Monday of every month at board meetings until funding is used up
  • Approval and Distribution: Usually occurs by mid-September each year
  • Funding Contingency: Contingent upon all essential factors in the proposal remaining the same (activity, site, beneficiaries, duration, etc.)
  • Reporting Requirement: A report must be sent to SAR after funds have been used to highlight benefits brought to recipients
  • Reapplication Policy: Previous grant recipients may apply again; however, new applicants will be considered first

How To Submit Your Proposal
