USA only - Projects implemented in the United States only. Applicants from other countries should visit www.childhood.org- Child victims of sexual abuse and exploitation

- Street children (including children at risk of being categorized in one or more of the mentioned target groups)
- Projects that directly involve and affect children and youth
Target Groups
Projects targeting:- Preventive measures targeted towards at-risk children
- New models and innovative approaches of work with the target groups
- Integration of technology
- Projects that take into account child participation
- Projects that take into account children's right to play
- Risk funding that promote development of new models and initiatives
- In special cases, research projects that are associated with our target groups
Priorities
Childhood USA prioritizes:- Projects implemented by an NGO registered in the country of implementation, or agency or individual/s associated through an NGO
- 501(c)(3) organizations (US-based)
- Prior visit from Childhood USA staff is required before submitting an application
- Organizations must meet specific eligibility criteria verified through QuickScan Questionnaire
Eligibility Criteria
- Organizations which Childhood has not visited
- Organizations which discriminate, in policy or in practice, on the basis of race, ethnicity, religion, gender, age, physical disability or sexual orientation
- Organizations which promote religious beliefs as part of their programming and reason for seeking funding
- Pure advocacy or research projects
- Lobbying or political campaigns
- Individual applicants
- Emergency or disaster relief
- Land acquisition or construction of new buildings
- Programs which address specific disabilities or chronic diseases or conditions
What Childhood USA Does NOT Support
- Award Range: $10,000 to $25,000 USD/year (new grant applications)
- Larger amounts considered on a case-by-case basis
- Grant Period: Typically one-year grants with possibility to extend up to a maximum of six years
- Reporting: Bi-annual financial and narrative reports required, plus Financial Audit Report for each grant period

CURRENTLY CLOSED - The grant proposal period is currently closed, and Childhood USA is not accepting new applications at this time. However, a new application period opens with deadline September 15, 2026 and Letter of Intents will be accepted beginning May 1, 2026.How to Apply
Application Process
#### Step 1: Verify Eligibility
1. Complete the QuickScan Questionnaire to verify that you meet eligibility requirements
2. If you pass the QuickScan, you will be invited to create an account
#### Step 2: Submit Letter of Intent
1. Log in to your account
2. Submit a Letter of Intent that describes your US-based project/501(c)(3) organization that addresses prevention or direct services for children who have experienced child sexual abuse and exploitation
3. Timeline: You will be notified within two weeks if your submission has been approved or denied
4. Email: [email protected]
#### Step 3: Site Visit
1. A site visit from Childhood USA staff is required (virtual or in person)
2. This visit allows Childhood USA to meet your staff and understand the context you are working in
3. Site visit must be completed before you can submit a full application

#### Step 4: Submit Full Grant Application
1. Pending a successful site visit, you will be invited to submit a full grant application
2. Log in to your account to complete it
