Childhood Lead Program Grant

The Childhood Lead Program, initiated by the New Jersey Department of Health, aims to reduce childhood lead exposure through nurse case management and environmental investigations. This initiative targets children with elevated blood lead levels and emphasizes public outreach to educate families and professionals on lead screening and prevention strategies. This funding opportunity supports the provision of nurse case management and environmental investigation services for children with blood lead levels at or above the Blood Lead Reference Value (BLRV), in accordance with N.J.A.C. 8:51. Funded activities also include public outreach and education for families, health care providers, and other professionals to promote age-appropriate blood lead screening, lead exposure prevention, and healthy housing practices, with the goal of reducing childhood lead exposure and improving long-term health outcomes.
