The Charles A. Peterson Endowment was established to honor the life of Charles A. Peterson, a well-regarded VVC administrator. Peterson was born September 5, 1938 in Amery, Wisconsin, and died on November 10, 2001 in an automobile accident in Victorville.

About Charles A. Peterson

• Service to VVC: 1975-1996 (21 years)
• Education:
  • BS in Forest Management, Montana State University
  • MS in Forest Management, Montana State University
  • PhD in Forest Management, Oregon State University
• Career at VVC:
  • Associate Dean of Instruction for Occupational Education
  • Eventually became Executive Vice President
  • Retired in 1996 as Vice President of Future Development and Technology
• Post-Retirement Activities:
  • Wrote grants to help St. Mary Medical Center
  • Drove a van to help people overcome transportation barriers to healthcare
  • Part of Future Search organization dedicated to improving local healthcare
  • Enjoyed photographing Native American petroglyphs and pictographs
