_NOTE: Applications are accepted beginning the first week of January through December 1.  Note that applications are pulled on the 15th of each month, and the timeline for application review and decision averages 60 days. The start of the timeline varies depending on the date the application is received._

Who We Are

AZ Blue has been dedicated to the health of Arizonans for nearly a century. Rooted in a history of giving, the Foundation is shaping the future of community impact, focused on addressing our state’s most pressing health challenges: Mental health, chronic conditions, health equity, and substance use disorders.

What We Do

The Foundation—a 501(c)(3) private, non-operating foundation—invests in programs and applied research that help make Arizona healthier.

The AZ Blue Foundation partners with organizations that are transforming health in Arizona to amplify their impact.

* Chronic health conditions — Preventing and Managing Conditions, Empowering Arizonans. Conditions like diabetes, heart disease, and cancer are among the most common and costly health challenges facing Arizonans. We’re tackling these issues by expanding access to screenings, support, and lifestyle management.
* Health equity — Advancing Health Equity. Barriers like low income, unstable housing, lack of access to healthy food can stand between Arizonans and a healthy life.
* Mental health — Strengthening Minds and Saving Lives. Our state ranks 49th in access to mental healthcare. We’re working to increase access, build resiliency, and even save lives.
* Substance use disorder — Paving Pathways to Prevention and Recovery. Substance use disorders affect people of all ages, race, class, and gender. We're committed to opening more paths to hope and healing for people and families across Arizona.

The AZ Blue Foundation provides funding each year for a select number of charitable events that align with our health focus areas.
