CFSC: Large Project Grants

The Community Foundation of Switzerland County offers Large Project Grants for charitable programs benefiting the local community, with requests exceeding $2,000. Applications are due by 3:00 p.m. on the first business day of March and August. These grants undergo an extensive evaluation process, requiring a meeting with the Grants Committee. Eligible projects must enhance community welfare, while ineligible items include general operating expenses and funding for individuals.

The Community Foundation of Switzerland County Inc. has multiple grants programs to serve the needs of our community. CFSCI awards grants to charitable programs and projects benefiting Switzerland County.
Large Project Grants are for requests over $2,000. The deadline to submit applications is no later than 3:00 p.m. on the first business day of March and  August. Decisions on funding will be made by CFSCI within 60 days of the deadline. Large Project Grants will go through a more intensive evaluation process than Small Project Grants and will require a meeting with CFSCI’s Grants Committee.

Eligibility

Grants will be made only to charitable projects or programs that benefit the residents of Switzerland County.Grants will be made only to organizations that provide for a responsible fiscal agent and adequate accounting proceduresGrants will be made only to organizations that are current on previous grant reporting requirements.Grant recipients and fiscal agents will sign and abide by the respective conditions as set forth in the Foundation’s “Grant Agreement” and “Grant Report”.

Ineligibility

Incomplete applications or applications submitted past the application deadline will not be considered. All submitted applications are considered final and no revisions will be accepted without prior approval.While the Community Foundation remains flexible in attempting to meet community needs, the following items generally are not funded:Acquisition of weapons, firearms or destructive devices as defined in the Indiana Code under IC 35-41-1-8 or IC 35-47-5-2-4.Annual appeals, sponsorships or membership contributions.Attempts to influence legislation or to intervene in any political campaign.Endowments.General Operating Expenses.Individuals.Purchases made prior to the grant being funded.Debt reduction.Religious purposes.Travel or lodging expenses to enable individuals or groups to attend seminars or take trips
