Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley is a nonprofit organization created to facilitate philanthropy in the Upper Ohio Valley region. Established in 1972, CFOV has partnered with hundreds of donors to create charitable funds that give back in a variety of ways. In partnership with our donors, CFOV has awarded more than $30 million in grants and scholarships across our 8-county region and beyond. Our long-term investment strategy permanently protects charitable funds for a perpetual resource for good. The Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley is confirmed in compliance with National Standards for Community Foundations. Food Security Fund Mission As food insecurity continues to grow across the nation and Upper Ohio Valley, the Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley (CFOV) is stepping up to meet the challenge. CFOV has launched the Food Security Fund to support nonprofit organizations working to ensure individuals and families across the region have consistent access to healthy, adequate food. With an initial commitment of $100,000, the Food Security Fund will make grants to nonprofits in CFOV’s eight-county service area: Tyler, Wetzel, Marshall, Ohio, Brooke, and Hancock counties in W.Va., and Belmont and Jefferson counties in Ohio.

Eligibility

Organizations must be identified as tax-exempt under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or similarly exempt such as faith-based organization, or government entity (i.e. libraries, schools, etc.) Serves as a food pantry in the counties of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Tyler, and Wetzel in W.Va., and Belmont and Jefferson counties in Ohio.

Ineligibility

If the organization has received a grant from a different CFOV grant program for food security in a similar timeline, please do not apply.
