Overview

CBSC Mini-Grants

Purpose: Support participating CBOs in pursuit of community-led and community-owned renewable energy project development in local communities.

Eligible Uses:

  • Community engagement events (teach-ins, workshops, lunch-and-learns)

  • Project development activities (feasibility studies, project modeling, data collection)

  • Other expenses related to project pre-development or early-stage development
  • Grant Amount:

  • Generally $2,000 – $5,000 per mini-grant

  • Maximum $5,000 total per organization over the 10-week CBSC program course

  • One mini-grant per round per organization
  • Eligibility Requirements:

  • Active participation in CBSC program (attend webinars/workshops, submit items timely)

  • Completed organizational capacity assessment

  • Active pursuit of community-led or community-owned renewable energy project development

  • Engaged in community engagement, project research, and related activities
  • Payout & Reporting:

  • Payment via ACH to organization or fiscal sponsor bank account

  • Simple reporting template required within 3 months of grant award (1 month after max 2-month grant period)
  • Required Documentation Prior to Application:

  • Confirmation of organizational bank account (bank statement, letter, or written affirmation)

  • Completed W-9 form
