About the Scholarship

Established in memory of Catherine Larson, a lifelong farmer, mother, crafter, and nurse. A native of Dwight, ND, Catherine graduated from Wahpeton High School and received her nursing degree from St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo. She began her career as a Registered Nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, MN, working primarily in medical-surgical nursing. Catherine became a resident of Bethany Retirement Living in summer 2014, living in both assisted living and skilled nursing at Bethany on 42nd. While a resident, she was always encouraging her caregivers to continue their education. Catherine passed away in October 2018. The scholarship was established through the generosity of Catherine's family to provide nursing education opportunities for Bethany employees.
