Background

Catherine Larson spent her life working with her husband on the family farm and was a mother, crafter, and nurse. A native of Dwight, North Dakota, she graduated from Wahpeton High School and St. Luke's School of Nursing in Fargo. She began her Registered Nurse career at St. Francis Hospital in Breckenridge, Minnesota, working primarily in medical-surgical nursing. Catherine became a resident of Bethany Retirement Living in summer 2014, living in both assisted living and skilled nursing at Bethany on 42nd. While a resident, she was always encouraging her caregivers to continue their education. Catherine passed away in October 2018. Her family established this scholarship in her memory to provide nursing education opportunities for Bethany employees.
