Summary

The CareQuest Emergent & Relief Fund aims to address the unique challenges faced by historically underserved communities in the healthcare system, particularly in oral health. This fund supports innovative approaches, urgent clinical responses, and immediate relief efforts for community crises. Grants are targeted at organizations demonstrating commitment to equity in health services, ensuring that aid reaches those most in need. With a focus on transformative change, this initiative seeks to enhance access and improve health outcomes across diverse populations.

Overview

Emergent & Relief Fund The health care system, including oral health, is not built to meet the needs of historically underserved communities. To this end, we have created the Emergent & Relief Fund to respond to pervasive and intersectional issues that impact underserved communities disproportionately across the country. Through this grantmaking fund, CareQuest Institute seeks to support one or more of the following three strategic outcomes: The development of innovative approaches to support the ongoing response by the oral health field to transform and meet the needs of consumers within, and beyond, the pandemic. The ability of communities and partner organizations to provide immediate relief due to unforeseen circumstances (i.e. community displacement due to a natural disaster). The response to urgent and unexpected clinical issues that impact the direct access to care, particularly for historically marginalized communities All grants, whether to a local, state, or national partner, should demonstrate intent toward responding to the needs of historically marginalized communities. Like the Advancing Equity Through Oral Health fund, CareQuest Institute is interested in content that demonstrates intent and work related to the five cross-cutting dimensions (Health and Racial Equity, Social Determinants of Health and Oral Health, Community-Centered Measurement, Learning and Capacity Building, and Innovation in Oral Health). The Emergent and Relief Fund includes several funding opportunities. Please complete the application based on the type of grant you are applying for: Emerging Opportunities: Projects aiming to respond to a time-sensitive opportunity to develop innovative approaches to oral health systems change.Relief Efforts: Natural disaster emergency response work, not necessarily related to oral health.Urgent Needs: One-time, urgent needs to support clinics and organizations through short-term challenges. (This category might include equipment replacement, Missions of Mercy or similar efforts, etc.)Sponsorships: Support of convenings, events, and activities that promote shared learning and the spread of best practice within the field of oral health, specifically related to oral health for historically marginalized and underserved communities.
