Overview: The Career Opportunity Scholarship Fund is available to students who are current or former participants of St. Jude's Ranch for Children programs.

Funding Uses
Funds will typically be used to cover expenses for:- Current or former St. Jude's Ranch participant in one of the above programs
- Education completion: High School Graduate, General Education Diploma (GED), or High School Equivalency (HiSET)
- Enrollment proof: Must provide proof of enrollment in an educational institution (vocational school, college, university)
- Initial applicants: Must have a 2.0 GPA minimum
- Essay requirement: Typed 750-1,000 words covering: - Bio about youth - Educational goal - How scholarship funds will help meet educational goal - Career choice
Eligibility Requirements
- Students must maintain above a 2.0 grade point average for each course taken
- Must complete the course once approved for scholarship
- A grade below 2.0 or "incomplete" status disqualifies student from receiving equivalent funds for books and tuition for next request
- Copies of current and prior semester grades required with each funds request

Application Process
1. Determine eligibility - Confirm you are a current or former participant of one of the eligible programs
2. Obtain required documentation:
- Proof of high school graduation, GED, or HiSET
- Proof of enrollment in an educational institution
3. Prepare essay:
- Type 750-1,000 words
- Address all four required topics:
- Bio about youth
- Educational goal
- How scholarship funds will help meet educational goal
- Career choice
4. Verify GPA - Ensure minimum 2.0 GPA (initial applicants)
5. Submit application:
- New Application form (for first-time applicants)
- OR Renewal Application form (for returning applicants)
6. Ongoing submissions:
- Include copies of current and prior semester grades with each funds request
- Maintain above 2.0 GPA to remain eligible
- Completed application form (New or Renewal)
- Typed essay (750-1,000 words)
- Proof of high school completion (diploma, GED, or HiSET)
- Proof of enrollment in educational institution
