Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits Program: Annual Strategic Grants

The Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits Program offers annual strategic grants aimed at enhancing healthcare access and quality for Cape Cod residents. This initiative supports non-profit organizations addressing unmet health needs, focusing on the financially disadvantaged and underserved populations. Through a competitive grant process, organizations can propose projects that promote health equity and improve physical and mental health in Barnstable County, aligning with the findings of the Community Health Needs Assessment.

What is the Community Benefits Program?
As a non-profit, tax exempt 501(c)(3) organization, Cape Cod Healthcare has an important fiduciary obligation to provide benefits to the community commensurate with our tax exempt status. The provision of Community Benefits is an important component of Cape Cod Healthcare’s charitable activities to ensure Cape Cod Healthcare remains steadfast to the mission and remains a steward of the valuable community. Cape Cod Healthcare Community Benefits is a division of the Cape Cod Healthcare Foundation and, through its Community Health Committee, reports to the Board of Trustees. The Community Health Committee is comprised of members representing healthcare services on Cape Cod, community-based organizations, community advocacy groups and county government, as well as members of the Board of Trustees.
Community Benefits Mission
Cape Cod Healthcare, Inc., through its Community Benefits initiative, is committed to enhancing the quality of and access to comprehensive healthcare services for all Cape Cod residents. Through continuous assessment of community needs, coordinated planning and the allocation of resources, this commitment includes a special focus on the unmet needs of the financially disadvantaged and underserved populations. We will assume a leadership role in collaborative efforts joining our resources, talent, and commitment with that of other providers, organizations and community members.
Annual Strategic Grant Cycle
Our Annual Strategic Grant cycle is an annual competitive grant process that focuses on addressing the unmet health needs of the residents of Barnstable County. The CCHC Community Benefits grants program is open to non-profit community organizations operating in Barnstable County which have programs aligned with the needs identified in the Community Health Needs Assessment.
Organizations are invited to submit proposals for programs or projects that improve the physical and/or mental health of Cape Codders, address unmet public health needs, and promote health equity. Proposals must address one or more needs identified in CCHC’s Community Health Needs Assessment.
