Bush Fellowship Grant

The Bush Fellowship empowers individuals across various sectors to amplify their leadership and drive community change. Offering up to $150,000 over two years, it supports personal growth and networking for selected Fellows. Applicants must be at least 24 years old and residents of specific states or Native nations. The program is competitive, with over 600 applications in recent years. It emphasizes equitable leadership and a commitment to making impactful changes within communities.

Eligibility

at least 24 years old at the time of the application deadlinea resident who lives in Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota or one of the 23 Native nations that shares the same geography, for one continuous year immediately prior to the application deadlineThere are no specific citizenship requirements to be eligible for the Bush Fellowship. However, if a Fellow is not a U.S. citizen or resident alien, the Bush Foundation may be required to withhold income taxes on Fellowship payments and report such payments and withholdings to the Internal Revenue Service.

Ineligibility

You are ineligible if you have previously received a Bush Fellowship, Bush Artist Fellowship, Bush Leadership Fellowship, Bush Medical Fellowship, or Enduring Vision Award.You are a family member of an individual who is a Bush Foundation staff or board member. Family members include a spouse, parent, grandparent, great-grandparent, child, grandchild, great-grandchild, and spouses of children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.IRS regulations restrict how certain government and elected officials can use their Fellowship.
