Overview

Burke Women's Fund

Overview: Operating under the auspices of the Community Foundation of Burke County, the Burke Women's Fund was created in 2009 by a group of 15 women. Since its inception, the Burke Women's Fund has granted $476,781.98 to support initiatives benefiting women and families in Burke County.

Vision:

  • Advance the power of collective giving among Burke County women

  • Empower women in meaningful ways

  • Gain a deeper understanding of the issues that affect women and families in the community

  • Provide impactful financial support which improves the quality of life for all

    • Geographic Scope: Burke County, NC

    Eligibility: Programs and projects should benefit women and families in Burke County. Tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organizations eligible.

      Membership Information

      Membership includes:
    • A vote on prospective grant recipients
    • An annual gathering to honor grant recipients and members
    • An invitation to local educational opportunities sponsored by the Burke Women's Fund
    • An invitation to Special Events sponsored by the Burke Women's Fund

    Membership Options:

  • Individual: $365 per year ($300 toward grants, $35 to permanent endowment, $30 to operations)

  • Small group (up to 5 members): $365 per year per group

  • Organization (church, business, civic group, etc.): $365 per organization

  • Age 35 or younger: $150 per year
