Brophy Community Foundation Tuition Aid

Purpose: Provides tuition assistance to Arizona families with verified financial need to afford private K-12 education for their children.

Geographic Scope: Arizona

Eligible Students:

  • Students in grades K-12

  • Attending or planning to attend qualified private schools

  • From families with verified financial need
  • Income Guidelines: Family income thresholds apply (varies by family size and academic year). For example, a family of three must earn $91,211 or less annually to qualify.

    Key Eligibility Requirements:

  • Student must be enrolled at a qualified private school

  • Family must meet verified financial need criteria per School Tuition Organization (STO) program definitions

  • Parents must reapply each school year

  • Student cannot simultaneously receive Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) funds

  • No donor-designated or donor-recommended awards permitted
  • Award Basis: All tuition aid awards are based on verified financial need only, not donor recommendations.

    Restrictions:

  • Cannot receive funds from both an STO and ESA program in the same academic year

  • Schools can only accept tuition aid equal to the student's tuition due for the current school year

    Application Process

    Step 1: Verify Eligibility

  • Review income guidelines for your family size at https://azdor.gov/tax-credits/certification-school-tuition-organization

  • Confirm your family meets verified financial need criteria per STO program definitions
  • Step 2: Complete Required Forms (if applicable)

    If student is transferring from public to private school:

  • Complete and submit Public School Attendance Verification Form to Brophy Community Foundation

  • Form must be completed by applicant AND school

  • Email to: hchapman@brophyprep.org
  • If student has ever received STO funds from another organization:

  • Complete and submit Previous Scholarship Verification Form to Brophy Community Foundation

  • Form must be completed by applicant and school or STO

  • Email to: hchapman@brophyprep.org
  • If student has previously received BCF funds or is a new kindergarten student:

  • Skip Step 2 and proceed directly to Step 3
  • Step 3: Complete FACTS Online Application

    Required documentation:

  • Copies of 2024 tax forms including all supporting tax schedules

  • Copies of 2024 W-2 forms for applicant and spouse (if applicable)

  • Copies of supporting documentation for: Social Security Income, Welfare, Child Support, Food Stamps, Workers' Compensation, or any other miscellaneous income

  • Complete online FACTS application and click/confirm 'SUBMIT' step
  • Application Fee: $35

    Important Notes:

  • Online application is the required method for submission

  • Do NOT mail or fax documents to Brophy Community Foundation

  • All application and financial documentation must be submitted to FACTS only

  • If you have applied to BCF in previous years, use your FACTS identification number to simplify the process

  • Spanish language applications are available
