Geographic Scope: International (priority for humanitarian needs globally)

Focus Areas:

• Aid and assistance to children (born and unborn) and their caregivers
• Rescue and critical care for abandoned or unwanted children
• Remedial medical attention including cleft palate surgery
• Support for special needs such as blindness, deafness, loss of limbs, or paralysis

Eligibility:

• 501(c)(3) organizations only
• Must serve identified humanitarian needs as described above

Funding Approach:

• Grants are maximized through matching gifts and contributions from other organizations or SCF general operating funds
• Grants for constructing or purchasing structures and facilities may not exceed one-third of total project cost
• Preference given to paying rent for existing facilities over constructing/purchasing in countries where continued operation cannot be assured due to property laws and government stability
