Summary
The BOOST Grant, funded by the Georgia Department of Education, aims to enhance the educational experiences of 1.7 million students in Georgia's public schools. This program supports community organizations that provide evidence-based out-of-school time (OST) programming, addressing both academic and non-academic challenges. By promoting learning acceleration and well-being, BOOST strives to ensure students are prepared for life beyond the classroom, focusing on a whole child approach to education.Overview
Georgia Department of Education There are 1.7 million students in Georgia’s public schools – and it’s our goal at the Georgia Department of Education to improve outcomes and expand opportunities for each one of them. Through child-focused and classroom-centered policies, a strong focus on the foundations, and increased relevance and opportunities in the later grades, we’re working to ensure all students graduate ready to contribute to their communities and live fulfilling, productive lives. We are focused on preparing students for life, not a test – and making sure that all schools have the resources they need to provide every child with a high-quality public education. Building Opportunities for Out-of-School Time (BOOST) Grant Program The BOOST (Building Opportunities in Out-of-School Time) Grant, in partnership with the Georgia Statewide Afterschool Network, awards one-year funding to community organizations that operate comprehensive out-of-school time (OST) programming year-round, during the summer months, or after school during the academic year. These must be evidence-based programs that support student learning and address non-academic challenges. Purpose BOOST Grants are intended to support the learning acceleration, connectedness, and well-being of Georgia’s students, utilizing a whole child approach.Eligibility
