Established in 1998 using Sport Fish Restoration and Boating Trust Fund. Supports construction, renovation, or maintenance of boating infrastructure for transient recreational vessels at least 26 ft. long used primarily for pleasure. Two grant levels: Tier 1 (small projects, state-level decision) and Tier 2 (large projects, national ranking, highly competitive). Annual grant cycle opens in August with funding decisions announced around March.
