Overview

Blue Ridge Energy Members Foundation Grant The Blue Ridge Energy Members Foundation was formed in 2007 to expand the commitment to our members and the communities we serve and is funded through our Operation Round Up program and our subsidiaries, Blue Ridge Energy, LLC, and RidgeLink, LLC. The Blue Ridge Energy Members Foundation is unique because 100 percent of all members’ donations as well as a portion of our subsidiaries’ profits are returned to the members and their communities. Thanks to over 25,000 members who participate in Operation Round Up programs each month, the Blue Ridge Energy Members Foundation has returned almost $3 million to our members and local communities. Helping Members The Foundation provides monetary assistance to Blue Ridge Energy members struggling to pay their electric bills as well as local non-profit organizations that provide other types of assistance to our members. To determine eligibility, individual members seeking assistance work through local help agencies like the Department of Social Services and "We Can." Agencies may differ by county. Community Grants Dozens of local organizations apply and are approved for community grants. A volunteer group of members (the Foundation Advisory Committee or FAC) review applications from the applying non-profit organizations for the annual grant cycle. Organizations are encouraged to apply for grants in the areas of health, wellness and treatment, education and youth, economic and community development, and environmental enhancement / quality of life. Organizations should seek grants to provide specific services that benefit others. Only one grant application per organization will be accepted per year. The community grant funding is limited to $25,000 per grant.
