Blue Line Charity Partner Program

Overview: Allows nonprofits from the community to use the Akron Marathon Race Series presented by Summa Health as a fundraiser. Partner organizations receive a large promotional audience (14,000+ runners and 2,000+ volunteers) without having to plan and organize an event themselves.

Geographic Scope: Akron, Ohio area and surrounding community

Eligibility:

  • Local nonprofit organizations

  • 501(c)(3) status required
  • What They Fund:

  • Organizations can use the marathon events as a fundraising vehicle

  • All funds raised by individual nonprofits go directly to them

  • Top three charities that raise more than $5,000 receive additional donations from the Akron Marathon

  • Donations vary depending on annual proceeds
  • Participation Requirements:

  • Recruit runners who will fundraise on organization's behalf

  • Recruit volunteers to give their time during race weekend

  • Promote organization at event to large audience
  • Events Available:

  • National Interstate 8k & 1 Mile (June)

  • Goodyear Half Marathon & 10k (August)
