  • Applicants may not share or borrow nonprofit status from another organization
  • Located in Black Hawk, Bremer, Butler, or Grundy counties

  • BHCGA operates as a Qualified Sponsored Organization (QSO) under rules and regulations set forth by the Iowa Racing and Gaming Commission (IRGC)

How to Apply

Application Process

The grant cycle lasts four months and consists of the following phases:

1. Letter of Intent (LOI) - Submit through online portal
2. Application - By invitation only (for LOIs meeting eligibility criteria)
3. 1st Round Board Review
4. 2nd Round Board Review and Award Decisions

Submission Requirements

  • All applications must be submitted through the online grant portal (Foundant)
  • Do not mail or email physical letters to the office
  • All applications are due by 4:00 PM on the deadline listed in each grant cycle
  • Letters of Intent and applications must be submitted throughout the online grant portal
