Awards for accomplished researchers to leverage ongoing studies and generate preliminary data to support applications for extramural, peer-reviewed funding. Two $70,000 awards available annually. Designed to help researchers transition from pilot studies to competitive national funding.

Application Process

2. Proposal Submission: Submit proposals by announced deadline (historically October)
3. Content Requirements:
   • Description of ongoing research
   • Preliminary data generated
   • Specific aims for BCRFA-funded work
   • Budget and justification
   • Plan for leveraging results toward national funding
4. Review Process: Reviewed by BCRFA selection committee
5. Award Announcement: Recipients announced at BCRFA Comprehensive Cancer Center Annual Research Retreat
