Barrett Family Scholarship Grant

The Barrett Family Scholarship, managed by the Elmore County Community Foundation, supports graduates of Elmore County high schools who plan to attend Auburn University. Established in memory of the Barrett family, the scholarship prioritizes Wetumpka High School graduates while also considering others. Awards are determined by academic achievement, financial need, and community service. The foundation aims to enhance the quality of life in Elmore County through various charitable initiatives.

Elmore County Community Foundation
The Elmore County Community Foundation (ECCF), established in 1996, is a local philanthropic organization dedicated to strengthening Elmore County through grantmaking and scholarship support. As an affiliate of the Central Alabama Community Foundation, ECCF connects donors with community needs and has distributed millions of dollars to nonprofit organizations and local initiatives. Its mission focuses on enhancing quality of life by supporting nonprofit programs and services, while its vision centers on building a stronger, more vibrant community through sustained charitable giving. ECCF’s funding priorities include community-based nonprofit projects, education through scholarship programs, and initiatives that address local needs and improve outcomes for residents across Elmore County.
The Barrett Family Scholarship, established in memory of Terry, Ben and Janet Barrett, benefits graduates of any Elmore County high school who plan to attend Auburn University. Preference will be given to graduates of Wetumpka High School, although graduates of other Elmore County high schools will be considered. Awards will be based on academic achievement, financial need and community service. Applicant could be interviewed by the selection committee.
