Avril Weisman Annual Convention Scholarship

Honoring: Avril Weisman, a longtime NCAP employee who dedicated 28+ years to building the capacity of Community Action Agencies and coordinating the NCAP Annual Convention.

Award Details:

Two scholarships awarded annually

Each consists of complimentary registration and a $750 travel stipend

One scholarship awarded to a Community Action Agency or State Community Action Agency Association staff member

One scholarship awarded to a Community Action board member

Eligibility:

Community Action Agency staff members

State Community Action Agency Association staff members

Community Action board members

NOT eligible: Executive Directors and Senior Management Team leaders

Geographic Scope: National

Focus Areas: Professional enrichment, ongoing learning, Community Action brand development

Purpose: Reflects Avril's passion for Community Action and dedication to ongoing learning and professional enrichment. The scholarship supports attendance at the Annual Convention which brings together over 1,000 Community Action leaders and volunteers from across the country for learning, networking, and sharing best practices.
