Background: Avalanna Routh was a six-year-old girl who battled AT/RT (Atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor), a rare form of brain cancer. She gained international recognition and touched many lives. The Islanders Hockey Club created this memorial award to honor her memory and continue her legacy of helping others. The trophy was funded by the King family through a backyard hockey tournament they organized.
