ASCE Florida Section: Hayden Family Scholarship Grant

The ASCE Florida Section: Hayden Family Scholarship, established in 2017 by the Hayden family, offers $1,000 to first-generation undergraduate ASCE student members pursuing civil engineering at Florida universities. The scholarship promotes educational opportunities for students facing financial challenges. Applicants must be active members of their local ASCE chapter and cannot have previously won undergraduate scholarships. This initiative demonstrates a commitment to supporting the next generation of civil engineers and enhancing the profession's future.

2025 Florida Section Sccivholarship Information
The ASCE Florida Section and Florida Engineering Foundation are pleased to announce the 2025 scholarship endowment partnerships. These endowments support 9 scholarships for students studying civil engineering in Florida universities and are awarded each year at the ASCE Florida Section Annual Conference. All applicants must be ASCE members and pursuing their studies in civil engineering at a Florida school.
This scholarship was endowed in 2017 by Myron and Judy Hayden. Myron and Judy, as well as son Tom Hayden and his wife Mary Jane, were past presidents of the Tallahassee Branch. Sister Audra Hayden has been heavily involved with ASCE Tallahassee activities throughout her career. Judy Hayden was a first-generation college student. They strongly feel that ASCE is one of the most important engineering societies in our profession and realize that some engineering students cannot afford the rising prices of college tuition. They have each been fortunate throughout their careers and feel that The Hayden Family Scholarship is their family’s way of giving back to our community by supporting the engineers of tomorrow. The scholarship award is $1,000.

Eligibility

This scholarship is open to any first-generation undergraduate ASCE student member pursuing a degree in civil engineering in a Florida school.The applicant is an active member of his/her local ASCE student chapter
This scholarship program is open to all undergraduate students who have not previously won the undergraduate scholarships.
