Arts on the Block (AB)

Overview: Arts on the Block (AB) is a grassroots initiative designed to provide small grants specifically for artist fees for arts activities at block parties and single block festivals.

Geographic Scope: Bronx-based

Award Amount: Up to $1,500

Project Focus: Artist fees for arts activities at block parties and single block festivals. Examples include DJs, spoken word artists, musicians, singers, dancers, and other artists whose activities will enhance block party attendance.

Eligible Applicants:

  • Small local organizations

  • Block associations
  • Funding Purpose: To increase attendance at block parties and single block festivals

    Priority:

  • Preference given to smaller organizations

  • Preference given to organizations who have not applied for a grant from BCA in the past
  • Supported By: New York State Council on the Arts, Statewide Community Regrants Program
